INDUCTION PROGRAMME

The Faculty of Law, SGT University organized the INDUCTION PROGRAMME & WELCOME BATCH 2022 for the new students of BA LLB(H), BBA LLB (H), LLB & LL.M.

Faculty of Law SGT University organized a 6 Day Induction Programme from 25/08/2022 to 31/08/2022. Eminent Speakers Prof(Dr.) Kesava Rao, Vice-Chancellor, NUSRL, Ranchi,  Prof.(Dr.) Usha Tandon, Dean Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, Dr. Anurag Deep, Faculty, Indian Law Institute, Adv. Sanjay Kumar Dubey, AOR Supreme of Court of India and other experts from different fields of Legal Profession addressed the students and enlightened them with virtues and values required. Students were taken to University visits and Excursions. Special session on Internship and Placement Mentor Mentee Policy,  Teacher batch in–charge,& Alumni, Legal Aid Cell/ Outreach Activity, Examination System, ERP, Library System, Course Matrix, Syllabus, and Pattern of Question papers, Centers, Cells & Clubs were also taken by respective Coordinators.

   Induction programs discuss the various aspects of the Legal Profession in the 21st century.  The aim of the event was basically to advise students to be focused, hardworking & pursue their higher studies with a vision to excel as a great lawyer.

The event commenced at 10:00 am on Aug 27th, 2022, Thursday with the Anchor , Ms. Rakhi Tewari opening the event by welcoming the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Dean & the attendees. Thereafter the Hon’ble Dean presented his welcome address, followed by an Expert Session by the Hon’ble Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Anurag Deep, Professor, Indian law institute, New Delhi and Adv. Sanjay Kumar Dubey A.O.R. Supreme Court of India. They discuss a combination of a profession’s visible commitment to ethics and integrity, high levels of ongoing education, accountability via professional discipline, and commitment to act in the public interest.

Thereafter Asst. Prof. Rakesh Kumari Malik discussed the outreach activity related to the legal aid cell. The main objective of organizing a legal aid camp is to spread awareness on rights, entitlements and legal remedies. In these hard times of COVID, Faculty of Law is helping the society by organizing Legal Aid Camps in virtual/offline mode and is offering legal advice to the people facing difficulties.

The session was followed by Senior Profs Rajan Rai discussed on the Mentor mentee policy, Teacher batch-in-charge & Alumni. The goal of the mentoring program is to establish a trusting relationship with accountability and responsibility from the mentor and mentee.

The session was followed by Asst. Prof. Vikram Lathwall briefly discussed the Internship & Placement of students.  The internship aims at widening the student’s perspective by providing exposure to real-life organizational, legal, and environmental situations. This will enable the students to explore industry and organization, build a relationship with a prospective employer (advocate), or simply hone their skills in a familiar field. An internship also provides invaluable knowledge and networking experience to the students.
