Prof. Dr. Suman Gupta is Dean Faculty of Law
Prof. Dr. Suman Gupta is Dean Faculty of Law, SGT University, Gurgaon. She is LL.M., Ph.D.From University of Delhi and served in Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi for 28 years and Dean in Law School of G.G.S.I.P. University, Delhi for 6 years. She served as Director, Centre for Governance and as Proctor in G.G.S.I.P. University, Delhi. Her specialization is Corporate Law and Intellectual Property Law. She was the first University teacher in India to be awarded World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) of U.N.O. Fellowship in Japan. She also attended WIPO training course on Intellectual Property in Sri Lanka. She also conducted Legal Education Training Program for about 1500 Sub Inspectors(Prob.) of Delhi Police in G.G.S.I.P. University, Delhi.
She was Supervisor of more than 100 LL.M. and Ph.D. Students. She has published various articles and her book on ‘Shareholder Democracy’ was highly acclaimed by business and Legal fraternity. She has also prepared a Survey Report on Corporate Governance in India for Institute of Developing Economies and External Trade Organization of Japan. She is the member of International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP). She has been invited to deliver lecture in various National and International Academic Institutions and has conducted various seminars and national conferences.
Prof. Rajiv Khanna
Prof. Rajiv Khanna retired from Faculty of Law, Delhi University on 30-11-2012. At the time of his retirement, he was also the Head & the Dean of Faculty of Law, Delhi University. He started teaching in the Faculty of Law in 1973 and has taught many subjects and the specializations are – Law of Marriage and Divorce, Labour Relations Law, Law of Land Law and Tenants, Property Law, Consumer Protection. He has guided many PhD scholars including PhD scholars of South Korea. He has written extensively on Labour Relations Law and Consumer Protection Laws and some articles have been published in the Journal of the Indian Law Schools and also foreignJournals. Prof. Rajiv Khanna was also the coordinator IPR Chair, University of Delhi (IPR Chair under Ministry of MHRD). For 2004-2007, he was also the in-charge of Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law. From 2007-09, he was a visiting Prof at HanKuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, South Korea, where he was specially invited for setting up their Law School. Prof Khanna was also associated for over 25 years with the conduct of DelhiUniversity Students Union Elections.
Prof. Rajan Rai
Prof. Rajan Rai has about 45 years experience of teaching English literature and language at the undergraduate and the post graduate level. Besides teaching English Prof. Rajan Rai also taught French as an elective subject along with English classes to the undergraduate students from 1980-1985. It is pertinent to mention that alongside his teaching assignment, the Higher Education Department Haryana made Government College Gurgaon as the Nodal College in the state for conducting Orientation and Refresher Courses for Lecturers in Haryana. From 1993-1998 Prof. Rajan Rai was appointed the Coordinator of these career advancement courses.Before joining Faculty of Law at SGT University in Aug 2013. Professor Rajan Rai served as Principal for about 5 years at Government College Israna (Haryana), Government College Tohana (Haryana) and Government College Sidhrawali (Haryana) from where he retired in 2005 following which he served in ITM University till July 2013.
Prof. Rajan Rai wrote a book on English Grammar for students of BA-I and II in collaboration with other lecturers in 1980. He was the principal author of a book on Effective Communication Skills when he was teaching at ITM University. He has delivered several talks at All India Radio (AIR) Rohtak and has delivered extension lectures in many colleges in Haryana.
Professor J.M. Gandhi
Professor J.M. Gandhi holds excellent academic record and rich teaching and research experience. He did his. B A (Hons) from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1970, M.A. Political Science (Gold Medalist) from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1973 and M. Phil in Political Science from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1986. His research work includes a study on Haryana Lok Dal; Its Support Structure and Leadership Pattern. He is well known writer and has written several books on the Political Science for degree classes including; InternationalOrganizations, U.N.O., Indian Political Thinkers, Western Political Thinkers. Before Joining the Law Faculty at SGT as Professor in Political Science last year, Professor J.M. Gandhi has served as a Principal in several Govt. Colleges in Haryana and has more than 30 years of Service in the Higher Education Department of Haryana Government. He has been teaching Post graduate and graduate classes in Political Science in different Government Colleges in Haryana for more than three decades. For 15 years he worked as Academic Counsellor for post graduate classes in Political Science and Public Administration with Indira Gandhi Open University, New Delhi.
Professor Suresh Minocha
Professor Suresh Minocha joined as Professor at Faculty of Law, SGT University on 1st September 2016 after his retirement from Faculty of Law, University of Delhi on 31st August 2016.
After doing B.Com.(Hons.) from Ramjas College, D.U. he studied at Faculty of Law, Delhi University for LL.B.& LL.M. He joined as Faculty member at Law Center I, Faculty of Law D.U.in 1979 and taught LL.B. & LL.M. Students till his retirement.
His field of specialisation includes Law of Contract, Company Law, Consumer Protection Act, Competition Act, Business Regulation, Sale of Goods Act.
During his tenure at Delhi University he was member of Delhi University Court, Faculty Of Law(Statutory body),Board of Research Studies and Departmental Research Committee.
During his students days he was President of Law Students Union and Executive Committee Member of Delhi University Students union. He was Staff Advisor to Students Union for about twenty years.
Dr. Abdul Azim Akhtar
Dr. Abdul Azim Akhtar is an academic and researcher with more than 11 years of varied experience in teaching, research and corporate sector. He was Associate Professor with Glocal University, Saharanpur. He worked for the Shiv Nadar Foundation on the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art project. He was associated with the Indian Council of Historical Research as Researcher. His areas of interests are legal History, regional History, art History, subaltern studies, tribals, minorities, comparative religion, conflict management and Peace Studies.
He holds PhD and UGC-NET in History. He was educated at the Centre for Advanced Study in History, Aligarh Muslim University-Aligarh, Patna University, and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi. His research papers and articles have been published in national and international journals and include Serbian Studies Review. He is editorial board member with International Journal of Social Science Studies, USA.
He also contributed as journalist and editor for magazines and newspapers: A review of Indian Journalism Critique, Swagat, Discover India, Naturalli, and Haute Wheels, Golf Style, National Herald (Delhi), Pioneer (Delhi), and Hindustan Times (Delhi & Patna), Explore the Unexplored, The Hindustan Review. He was researcher and writer for monographs: Time Unfolded- 2011; Open Doors- 2010; Viswanadhan-2007; AMBADAS-2008.
He is the author of Uprisings Against Colonialism in Jharkhand, 1830-1944 (2013), which was reviewed in The Hindu ( Delhi) & Free Press Journal ( Mumbai).
Mr. Shridul Gupta
Mr. Shridul Gupta joined SGT University as Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law. He did his B.Com(Hons.) from Ramjas College, North Campus, Delhi University and LL.M (Cyber Laws & Cyber Crime) with First Class with Distinction (Gold Medalist) from G.G.S.I.P. University, Delhi. He has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC). He also did a Certificate Course in Spanish form the Faculty of Arts, University of Delhi.Before Joining SGT University, he practised as an Advocate in the High Court of Delhi for 7 Years. He was also Associate Counsel with Mr. Amarjit Singh Chandhiok, Senior Advocate & Former Additional Solicitor General of India. He has contributed Research Paper in prestigious National Journals and has also presented papers in Seminars &Conferences.
Mr. Nishit Ranjan Chaki
Nishit Ranjan Chaki is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law. He has completed his B.A.,LL.B (Hons.) from The University of North Bengal. During his law course, he has received scholarship from Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. He has secured Second Position in his law course, and received the University Silver Medal and also a Gold Medal. He has completed his LL.M from the prestigious Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.As a part of his LL.M course requirements, he has done an empirical research on Forest Rights under The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006. His LL.M dissertation was on the topic of Language Rights under the Constitution of India. His areas of interest are Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Law and Society, etc. He has presented papers in UGC sponsored National Seminars. He has also secured the degrees of B.A. and M.A. in Public Administration from the prestigious I.G.N.O.U. He has qualified UGC NET in Law.
Mrs. Komal Dahiya
Mrs. Komal Dahiya joined SGT University as Asst. Professor. She did her LLM from Kurukshetra University and now pursuing her Ph.D. Before joining SGT University , she has one year of teaching experience. She also practiced in Delhi High Court and District courts for 5 years.
Ms. Teena has joined Faculty of Law, SGT University as an Assistant Professor. She is pursuing Ph. D from Amity University, Manesar, Gurgaon and also pursuing PG Diploma in IPR from IGNOU. She has done LLM from BPSM Khanpur, Sonipat in Corporate Law in 2010. She has done her LLB from MD University, Rohtak in 2008
